David is

• a member of the prestigious London-based Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners [STEP];
• an Accredited Commercial Law Specialist
• co-creator and foundation director of the Family Business Consultants Network.

His focus over 40 years has been helping wealthy families generally in their succession plan and legacy, as well as families in business. He has counselled in all facets of businesses, including the  “work and family” balance.  He had conducted his own legal practice, been a principal in a national mid-tier firm, principal in a boutique firm, and now with cutting-edge Northern Beaches firm Medcalf Grant

David has formulated, then implemented, a vast array of business and personal succession plans, as well as Family Office concepts. He empower families to control their own destiny and their own dynasty, and legacy.

By way of life experience, he was a Scout Leader for 20 years, Board Member of AFL Clubs Fitzroy in the 1980s and Brisbane Lions in the 1990s, Councillor and Vice-President of the Women’s National Basketball League and Councillor of City of Knox (including Mayor 1988/89).

David was the Steering Committee Chairman, and then Chairman, of the Fern Tree Gully Community Bank and also Rowville Community Bank.
He was also an international trial observer at the trial of Xanana Gusmao in Dili, East Timor.

David then brings these experiences, and the creativity shaped by them, to the Medcalf Grant Private Clients Group.
David advise regularly in Melbourne and Sydney, but is not limited to those cities.
