Stephen Bourne
Stephen was first admitted as a legal practitioner in 1998, and since then has worked as a solicitor and a barrister in both New Zealand and Australia. Throughout this period, Stephen has undertaken a wide variety of court matters ranging from criminal jury trials to commercial litigation and family law cases. This has also included roles as a senior lawyer in the public sector, focusing particularly on family and child law, administrative law, coronial inquests, and civil claims.
Stephen’s main areas of practice are
Parenting and property disputes and Family Law Courts proceedings
Children’s Court proceedings including child welfare cases
Coronial inquests, insurance claims, commercial disputes and civil litigation
Criminal and traffic defence in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court. Notary Public services.
Qualifications
Master of Laws Degree (with Merit) – Victoria University
Master of Business Studies Degree – Massey University
Master of Science (Psychology) Degree – Massey University
Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance
